A development, inclusive, and shared learning and communication platform was built to achieve the expected results of this webinar.

As the 1st UBE International Academic Webinar hosted by International Society of Unilateral Biportal Endoscopy (ISUBE), it was held successfully by the strong support of colleagues all over the world. International Society of Unilateral Biportal Endoscopy (ISUBE) adheres to the purpose of researching and promoting UBE (Unilateral Biportal Endoscopy) technology. Through the implementation of global academic exchanges and professional training, it provides a professional learning and training platform for spine doctors to allow most spine surgery patients Obtain UBE technology minimally invasive treatment.

ISUBE

The International Society of Unilateral Biportal Endoscopy, referred to as ISUBE, is an international academic organization co-sponsored by internationally renowned spine expert Dr. Sang Kyu Son and other internationally renowned spine experts. Dr. Sang Kyu Son is the first President of the association. At present, the main research direction of ISUBE is the spinal minimally invasive UBE technique, that is, the Unilateral Biportal Endoscopy technique. By carrying out global academic exchanges and professional training, most spinal degenerative diseases can be treated with UBE technology through minimally invasive treatment.

Under the ISUBE, UBE training centers have been established in various countries and regions around the world. Every year, training courses are held all over the world to provide professional learning and training platforms for spine surgeons. Nowadays, open surgery is widely used in spine, while UBE technique provides a new option for endoscopic surgery. With the innovation and improvement of the technique, various techniques are compatible. The innovative application of UBE technique is affecting the world.

UBE-TECH

Unilateral Biportal Endoscopy Technique is applicable to degenerative lesions of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. Different from single channel of PTED, this technique typically establishes two channels, one for view and another for instruments. The view channel generally uses 0° or 30° arthroscopy, and the instruments channel can provide channel for regular spinal and arthroscopic instruments such as UBE curettes, UBE endoscopic drills, UBE endoscopic shaver blades, UBE endoscopic RF plasma electrodes, UBE punch, UBE root retractor and so on. There is specific instrument package for UBE operation. The microscopic fusion surgery can also be performed by UBE technology.

UBE BENEFITS:

1.UBE endoscope has a smaller diameter, to provide a larger operating space and wider moving range.

2. The regular conventional spinal instruments can work for UBE surgery. No special instruments are needed. By the regular conventional spinal instruments, it is more efficient in treating hyperplastic degeneration tissues.

3. Excellent solution for stenosis cases.

4. Operation in the liquid ensures a clear surgical view, and UBE specific instrument is available to ensure smooth irrigation.

5. The posterior surgical approach ensures a shorter learning curve.

6. Providing a wide range of indications, even for the complicated cases such as the endoscopic fusion surgery, cervical, thoracic, lumbar cases.
