The 1st UBE International Academic Webinar hosted by the International Society of Unilateral Biportal Endoscopy (ISUBE), the Second Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University, Dalian Central Hospital Affiliated to Dalian Medical University, and Shouguang City People’s Hospital was held on May 17, 2020 (Sunday) with a great success!

The webinar started at 19:30 on May 17, 2020. Prof. Xu Weibing who is the executive chairman of the webinar from Dalian Central Hospital Affiliated to Dalian Medical University firstly introduced the guests, experts and scholars from South Korea, Ukraine, Egypt, Pakistan, the United States, Turkey, Malaysia, Morocco, Mexico, Colombia, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Canada, France, Russia, Uzbekistan, Australia and many other countries and regions.

Dr. Liu Xiaoguang of Peking University Third Hospital and Dr. Sang Kyu Son, President of International Society of Unilateral Biportal Endoscopy (ISUBE), respectively gave opening speeches. Prof. Zeng Jiancheng from West China Hospital of Sichuan University and Prof. Tan Rong from Chinese People’s Liberation Army Strategic Support Force Medical Center hosted this webinar.

UBE-TECH

Unilateral Biportal Endoscopy Technique is applicable to degenerative lesions of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. Different from single channel of PTED, this technique typically establishes two channels, one for view and another for instruments. The view channel generally uses 0° or 30° arthroscopy, and the instruments channel can provide channel for regular spinal and arthroscopic instruments such as UBE curettes, UBE endoscopic drills, UBE endoscopic shaver blades, UBE endoscopic RF plasma electrodes, UBE punch, UBE root retractor and so on. There is specific instrument package for UBE operation. The microscopic fusion surgery can also be performed by UBE technology.
