Practice Guidelines for Standardize Treatment
At the beginning of 2021,“Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Laryngomalacia in Children”,”Clinical Practice Guide for Diagnosis and Treatment of Congenital Piriform Fistula in Children” and “Clinical Practice Guide for Standardized Treatment of Tonsils & Adenoids with Low Temperature Plasma Radiofrequency Ablation in Children” were published in the “Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery”.
Because of its detailed and rich content and clear logic, it immediately aroused extensive discussion among clinicians.In order to further strengthen clinicians’ understanding of the guidelines, strengthen the integration with clinical practice.The national tour lecture series hosted by the “ Journal of Clinical Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery” will officially start in May 2021.Arrived in Jinan, Suzhou, Chongqing, Shijiazhuang, Wenzhou, Nanning and Nanchang, attracted nearly 40,000 clinicians to participate in the activities, discussed and practiced on disciplinary issues and clinical techniques, and further standardized the common, frequently-occurring and Clinical diagnosis and treatment of difficult diseases.
In 2022, we will continue to carry out a series of national lecture tours, sticking to the original intention of “Travelling lectures all over China”,We will discuss the road to standardized diagnosis and treatment of children’s ENT diseases. All colleagues are welcome to participate and discuss, and continue to strive for children’s health.
Jinan Station
On May 17, 2021, the first station of the lecture tour was successfully held in Qilu Children’s Hospital of Shandong University. Through the interpretation of the contents of the three guidelines and case sharing, the purpose of improving the clinical practice level of children’s otolaryngology head and neck surgeons and benefiting more children was achieved.The first station was a success, and the event attracted more than 2,000 people to participate, and the event received enthusiastic response.
Suzhou Station
On June 5th, we came to the Children’s Hospital Affiliated to Soochow University. Here we started the solicitation for the tour group and the operation video contest for the guidelines for children’s otolaryngology.The content-rich guide lectures, in-depth surgical live broadcasts, case sharing, and surgical video sharing have brought many benefits to the participants.
Chongqing Station
On July 24, with the support of the Children’s Hospital Affiliated to Chongqing Medical University, the third stop of the national lecture tour started.In addition to interpreting the contents of the three guidelines, this station is also the first competition site of the “Children’s ENT Disease Cases and Surgery Video Contest”.The entries are rich and fully demonstrated the diverse professional and discipline capabilities of clinicians, which were unanimously recognized by the guests on site.
Shijiazhuang Station
On July 31, the fourth national lecture tour came to Shijiazhuang and was successfully held in Hebei Children’s Hospital.This guide tour (Shijiazhuang Station) is a platform to promote academics and promote exchanges.Through this platform, pediatric otolaryngologists from all over the country shared their experiences, passed on their ideas, reached consensus, and brought many wonderful academic sharing sessions.
Wenzhou Station
On September 12, with the support of The Second Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University (Yuying Children’s Hospital of WMU), the fifth station was successfully held.With the support and encouragement of various experts and professors, more and more young physicians are actively participating in the case and surgery video competition, showing their surgical skills and disease diagnosis and treatment experience, and promoting the development and exchange of disciplines.
Nanning Station
On September 25, the sixth station of the guide tour was successfully held with the support of the Maternity and Child Health Care of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.The on-site academic atmosphere was strong, attracting nearly 100 peers from inside and outside the province to discuss offline and share an academic feast.The in-depth surgical video also benefited the participants a lot. The guests said that the operation video can help us to observe the details of the operation more deeply, ask the speaker questions at any time, and discuss the situation encountered during the operation, which is helpful for us to be familiar with the operation process and all aspects.
Nanchang Station
On October 10, the seventh lecture tour was successfully held in Jiangxi Children’s Hospital.At the meeting, participating physicians and teaching experts actively discussed and shared the guideline-related knowledge, concepts, technologies and clinical research results. The atmosphere was warm and the academic atmosphere was strong.
In 2021, we will travel to seven cities, learn three guidelines, share diagnosis and treatment experience, and promote advanced technology.In 2022, we will continue to adhere to the spirit of inheriting the conference practice of the three guidelines, standardizing clinical diagnosis and treatment, and improving the diagnosis and treatment level of children’s otolaryngology head and neck surgery.
